- Here are entered works on the principle that certain areas are designated as common spaces beyond the limits of national jurisdiction, and that neither the areas themselves nor their resources can be appropriated or annexed by way of sovereignty or sovereign right but can only be used or exploited equitably under a common, international management regime in the interest of all humanity, so that they may be preserved and protected for future generations.
