Workers in this unit group plan, organise, co-ordinate and direct businesses or local branches of businesses in wholesale or retail trade on behalf of the proprietors. Their functions include: planning and organising a business or a branch of a business in wholesale or retail trade; directing workers engaged in purchasing goods and selling them to retailers, industrial, commercial or other large consumers in a wholesale business; directing workers engaged in purchasing goods and selling them for personal or household consumption or use in a retail business; organising and controlling the work of purchasing, sales and other staff.
