Definition

  • В някои законодателни области, Европейският парламент трябва да даде своето одобрение като специална законодателна процедура съгласно член 289, параграф 2 от Договора за функционирането на Европейския съюз (ДФЕС). Процедурата на одобрение дава на Парламента правото на вето. Следователно ролята на Парламента се състои в това да одобри или отхвърли дадено законодателно предложение без допълнителни изменения, като Съветът не може да не се съобрази с позицията на Парламента. Одобрение се изисква също така, като незаконодателна процедура, когато Съветът приема някои международни споразумения.
