Definition

  • På visse lovgivningsområder skal Parlamentet give sin godkendelse, hvilket er en særlig lovgivningsprocedure under artikel 289, stk. 2, i traktaten om Den Europæiske Unions funktionsmåde. Godkendelsesproceduren indebærer, at Parlamentet har vetoret. Parlamentets rolle består under denne procedure i at godkende eller forkaste et lovforslag uden ændringer, og Rådet kan ikke tilsidesætte Parlamentets udtalelse. Der kræves også godkendelse som en ikke-lovgivningsmæssig procedure, når Rådets vedtager visse internationale aftaler.
