Definition

  • Az Európai Parlamentet egyes jogalkotási területeken felkérik, hogy az Európai Unió működéséről szóló szerződés (EUMSZ) 289. cikkének (2) bekezdésében előírt különleges jogalkotási eljárás szerint egyetértését fejezze ki. Az egyetértési eljárás a Parlament számára vétójogot biztosít. A Parlament szerepe tehát abban áll, hogy további módosítások nélkül jóváhagyja vagy elutasítsa a Tanács jogalkotási javaslatát, és a Tanács nem hagyhatja figyelmen kívül a Parlament véleményét. Az egyetértést nem jogalkotási eljárás során is kikérik, amikor a Tanács bizonyos nemzetközi egyezményeket fogad el.
