Definition

  • In alcuni ambiti legislativi, il Parlamento europeo è chiamato a dare la propria approvazione, che rientra tra le procedure legislative speciali a norma dell'articolo 289, paragrafo 2, del trattato sul funzionamento dell'Unione europea (TFUE). La procedura di approvazione attribuisce al Parlamento un diritto di veto. Il Parlamento può, quindi, approvare o respingere una proposta legislativa senza emendamenti e il Consiglio non può ignorare il parere del Parlamento. La procedura di approvazione è richiesta altresì, quale procedura non legislativa, allorché il Consiglio adotta alcuni accordi internazionali.
