  • Vadovaujantis Sutarties dėl Europos Sąjungos veikimo (SESV) 289 straipsnio 2 dalies nuostatomis, priimant kai kurių sričių teisės aktus Europos Parlamentas yra kompetentingas duoti pritarimą pagal specialią teisėkūros procedūrą. Pritarimo procedūra Parlamentui suteikiama veto teisė. Europos Parlamentas šiuo atveju pritaria teisėkūros pasiūlymui be tolesnių pakeitimų arba jį atmeta; o Taryba negali neatsižvelgti į Parlamento nuomonę. Pritarimas taip pat taikomas vykdant su teisėkūra nesusijusią veiklą, kai Taryba tvirtina tam tikrus tarptautinius susitarimus.
