Definition

  • O Parlamento Europeu, em certos domínios legislativos, tem de dar a sua aprovação, enquanto processo legislativo especial, em conformidade com o artigo 289.º, n.º 2, do Tratado sobre o Funcionamento da União Europeia (TFUE). O processo de aprovação confere ao Parlamento um direito de veto. O papel do Parlamento consiste, pois, em aprovar ou rejeitar a proposta legislativa sem apresentar mais alterações e o Conselho não pode ignorar o seu parecer. A aprovação também é necessária como processo não legislativo quando o Conselho adoptar certos acordos internacionais.
