Definition

  • Od Európskeho parlamentu sa vyžaduje, aby v istých legislatívnych oblastiach udeľoval súhlas na základe osobitného legislatívneho postupu podľa článku 289 ods. 2 Zmluvy o fungovaní Európskej únie (ZFEÚ). Postup súhlasu dáva Parlamentu právo veta. Úloha Parlamentu teda spočíva v schválení alebo zamietnutí legislatívneho návrhu bez ďalších zmien a doplnení a Rada nemôže nebrať postoj Parlamentu do úvahy. Postup súhlasu sa ako nelegislatívny postup vyžaduje aj pri prijímaní niektorých medzinárodných dohôd Radou.
