History note

  • Central and Eastern European countries associated with the EU through association agreements. Eight countries joined the European Union in 2004 (Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia), two in 2007 (Bulgaria and Romania), and Croatia joined in 2013. The list of CEEC countries comprises Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia.
