  • L'ecu era una moneta-paniere costituita dalla somma di importi fissi di 12 delle 15 valute degli Stati membri della Comunità europea. Il valore dell'ecu era calcolato come media ponderata del valore delle valute che lo componevano. L'ecu è stato sostituito dall'euro secondo un rapporto 1/1 il 1° gennaio 1999.
