  • Der ECU war ein Währungskorb, der aus festen Beträgen von 12 der 15 Währungen der EG-Mitgliedstaaten bestand. Der Wert des ECU wurde als gewichteter Durchschnitt der Werte der Währungen, aus denen er bestand, ermittelt. Der ECU wurde am 1. Januar 1999 im Verhältnis Eins zu Eins durch den Euro ersetzt.
