- Creată în 1952, această instituție a UE, al cărei sediu este stabilit la Luxemburg, cuprinde trei jurisdicții: Curtea de Justiție, Tribunalul (creat în 1988) și Tribunalul Funcției Publice (creat în 2004). De observat faptul că denumirea „Curtea de Justiție a Uniunii Europene” a înlocuit denumirea „Curtea de Justiție a Comunităților Europene”, ca urmare a intrării în vigoare a Tratatului de la Lisabona la 1 decembrie 2009.
