Definition

  • Dažās likumdošanas jomās Eiropas Parlamentam lūdz dot piekrišanu, kas ir īpaša likumdošanas procedūra saskaņā ar Līguma par Eiropas Savienības darbību (LESD) 289. panta 2. punktu. Piekrišanas procedūra piešķir Parlamentam veto tiesības. Tātad Parlaments var apstiprināt vai noraidīt likumdošanas priekšlikumu bez grozījumiem, un Padome Parlamenta nostāju nedrīkst ignorēt. Piekrišana kā neleģislatīva procedūra ir jāizmanto arī tad, kad Padome slēdz noteiktus starptautiskus nolīgumus.
